TiTON demonstrates the performance levels that can be achieved by using various types of cooling.  He starts off setting a baseline using Future Mark’s 3Dmark06, shows the overclocking potential using Air, Water, and Phase Change.

To show the benefits from better cooling, the same hardware components are used for all benches.  Here is a quick recap of the parts:

-         Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6700

-         EVGA 680i Motherboard

-         EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB Video Card

-         2GB of OCZ DDR2 Platinum Rev 2

-         PC Power & Cooling 750 Quad Silencer Power Supply

Air Cooling

-         CPU cooled with Thermalright Ultra 120

-         Video cooled with Reference 8800GTS Fan


Water Cooling – Dual Water Cooling Loop

-         Loop 1 (CPU and NB)

o       CPU cooled with Danger Den Cooper TDX

o       NB Coold with Danger Den Maze 4

o       Danger Den Mag II LE Pump

o       240mm Black Ice Xtreme Radiator

o       ½” Tygon Tubing

o       Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde Coolant by Fluid XP

-         Loop 2 (Video Card)

o       Video Card cooled with Danger 8800GTS Full Faced Water Block

o       Danger Den C-System Pump

o       240mm Black Ice Xtreme Radiator

o       ½” Tygon Tubing

o       Blood Red Coolant by Fluid XP


Phase Change Cooling:

-         SubZero cooling on CPU

-         Water Cooling Loop on Video Card

-         Video Card GPU volt Modded
