LV Logo

Check out the 2nd update to TiTON's Louis V SFF Case mod.  Watch as the side panels changes from Black to LV!!

For the side panels, I wanted the result to look like the LV purse.  I could not find a decent high resolution image of the LV pattern online.  I ended up re-designing the pattern completely by hand in vector format using Corel Draw.  I then sent the file over to my friends at “Liquid Sticker Design” @ www.iloveLSD.com.

I wanted the side and front panel to have that bumpy leathery texture.  After the primer had dried, I applied a couple of coats of Copper Hammered Paint from Rust-o-leum.  The Hammered paint result was similar to very very bad orange peel.  Which was the effect I was looking to achieve.

Now that the base coat has dried, time to apply the LV mask we made.  Applying the mask was very time consuming and tedious.  Luckily I had the wifey helping me out :D

LV Mask Applied to Front Panel

Now that the mask is applied, it is very important to make sure that all the edges are flat.  We do not want paint to seep under the mask.  Next I applied several coats of Kona Brown Glossy paint to the entire case.

I left the case to dry around 2 days, actually was to busy to get to it any sooner.  My wife was very kind to assist me in removing all the little LV masks we had applied to the case.  The side panels came out better than I would hope.  Check out the pics.

That is it for this update.  I hope to make more progress, and share it with everyone soon Laughing
